Dawn & Dusk

Dark rainbows
Are all I see
Varying hues of despair
Endless shades of misery

The moon keeps pace with the sun
An intentional eclipse
Only a thin rim of light escapes
Until beneath the horizon, it dips

Storm clouds gather
Peals of thunder but no lightning
Lest the light breaks the darkness
And makes the ambience less disheartening

Dark rainbows
In hopeless skies
And yet somewhere, someplace
There must be light
