The pain is constant
Like a string with no end
Suffering is ubiquitous
A faithful companion and friend
Everyone will let you down
Everything must and will change
But pain and suffering
Yes, they will remain
Through summer and winter
In rain or shine
New tortures and agonies
They will always find
There’s only one way
To beat this immortal foe
That is to harness the pain
Use it to make you grow
Then with every lashing whip
The stronger you will be
The wind won’t blow you over
You will be rooted like a tree
And when Pain finishes its work
Falling exhausted to its knee
You will smile softly and say
Thank you for making me me
