Bitter Gall

You make me drink the bitter gall
It’s poison to my soul
You drain life of its goodness
Bury me in a deep hole

You show me only sadness
When there is joy to be found
You rain down torrents of misery
Weigh me down to the ground

But your filter’s faulty
It shows me a lie
Replays my darkest memories
The ones that make me cry

But your hold on me won’t last
It will surely come to an end
Enjoy these last few moments
While my redemption begins

Then all the pain you’ve brought
Will only make the good taste better
I will appreciate every ray of sunshine
Because I am used to stormy weather

Your ultimate goal will fail
And I will have the last laugh
I will have your hide as a trophy
To tell of the triumph over my past
