Switch off the sat nav
We know better
Warning signs scream
But we ignore the red letters
We swerve off the trail
Follow our own desires
We get lost in dark woods
Get stuck in a mire
The car judders to a halt
The engine breaking down
We finally break our silence
And to God, we cry out
As He draws near to the window
Our grip tightens on the wheel
We quickly lock the door
We want to keep control still
The fuel tank is empty
The engine is ruined
No more pretending now
It’s time to let Him in
