My darkened heart
Rocked by violent storms
The water seeps in
And so do the worms
The once bright furnace
Now stark and empty
But one breath from God
Is more than plenty
It reignites the fire
At the centre of my heart
Dries up the moisture
With a single blast
When my pen strikes the paper
That same flame ignites
Its embers glowing in every word
Like the Northern Lights
If I can pass on this flame
Even to just one person more
Then that would be more marvellous
Than I could have ever hoped for
Torch of Hope
