Dawn & Dusk

A storm swirls
Engulfing all I see
But a fiercer storm
Awakes within me

It accelerates far quicker
Than the one outside
Driven by anxiety
At what is before my eyes

Fear begins to build
Lets rip with roaring thunder
Panic flashes in me
Lightning bolts of wonder

My worries like a whisk
Kept my inner storm spinning
Through it all You waited
Over me, quietly singing

I cried out
And the thunder stopped to listen
I looked up
And the lightning paused its exhibition

I won’t let what I can’t control
Steal my inner peace
So I quiet this storm within me
The outer storm, to You I release

The winds began to drop
Calm descended from above
Now I sit in Your peace
As I trust in Your love
