Dusk Raider

Ghostly wanderer
Returns at dusk
To turn my harvest
Into empty husks

Swinging lantern
Leaks out smoke
Masks his face
As my dreams choke

He stays until dawn
Withering my crops
Laying down seeds
Of grief and loss

When the sun rises
He melts away
Leaving me burdened
With guilt and dismay

And so I must
Start the struggle again
Sowing seeds of hope
And praying for rain
