Dawn & Dusk

An abandoned mine
Old tools still echo
No gold was found
For it was dug too shallow

Only dust and dirt
And distress remains
Grand ambitions
Now forgotten dreams

And yet hiding
Just beneath the surface
A glint of something
Worth unearthing

But the narrowed shaft
Prevented machinery
And the miner was not willing
To get their hands dirty
