Dawn & Dusk

I felt adrift
In this mindless ocean
Each wave a voice
Begging me to listen

They urged me to chase
Riches and fame
That these would be
The antidote to my shame

I drowned in this cacophony
Of utter nonsense
Each wave driven
By a desire for profits

So in the depths
I quietened my mind
And chose the purpose
That God put inside
