Trapped in a coal mine
The exit blocked by rock
Every shuddering blow
To my arm, an electric shock
I am armed with nothing
But a single pickaxe
It chips away slowly
Only forming small cracks
Echoing between the blows
I hear my enemy’s laughter
I hear his goons partying
Clinking glasses with their master
But I am not discouraged
For I know of a secret truth
An army is on its way
To destroy them soon
Their marching feet will send shudders
Through the cracks I’ve put in this rock
They will form into a pathway
As long as I don’t give up
And on that day, I will emerge
Into glorious sunlight
Enlisted into my Lord’s army
Ready to carry on this fight
