When I write poetry, my desire is to find that small bit of hope in the darkness. On some days, for whatever reason, I can’t find that light.
This poem reminds me that sorrow is not to be feared.
We can’t lament forever but some days we need to accept the state we are in and try again tomorrow to see the light.
Let the sorrow pour out
Even if it’s slow
Don’t suppress it
Let it flow
Some days you will find
That chink of light
But sometimes it will feel like
A dark and terrible night
Don’t fear it
Just note it down
It’ll be a reminder
Of how God turned things round
