They thought because I was quiet
That I had nothing to say
But I held my words within me
Until I came to this page
They left no space
For my voice to be heard
So I went to a place
Where I would never be spurned
Their loud voices drowned out
My attempts to enter
While others spoke pages
I didn’t even get one letter
Now they look at me
With surprise and wonder
Now that they know
What was hidden under
Embittered
