Music and Light

I see it on the horizon
A rising dawn
I hear it on the winds
Whisperings of a new song

It is music to my ears
Laughter in my lungs
Joy in my heart
Sweetness on my tongue

When you have endured
The darkest of nights
Then you appreciate
The slightest hint of sunlight

The opening note
Of your victory song
Sounds so beautiful
When it’s been silent for so long

So now I drink it in
The music and the light
Enjoying this beauty
Emerging from the night
