Hollow Reed (repost)

I am a hollow reed
That wails as the wind blows
I am mourning church bells
Echoing with resonant tone

I paint with black
This paper, my canvas
My words are a seething sea
Brooding, tumultuous

I do not mince my words
They are not for the faint-hearted
I will not underplay my emotions
Not one of them is disregarded

For it is only when
I paint this picture
That from this torture
I am delivered

And these emotions
Too complex for me to understand
At my pen’s command
To my will, they bend
