Lonely Lighthouse

A lament

Lonely lighthouse
Dark thoughts cripple
Their bony fingers
So thick yet supple

Brick by brick
They tear it down
Even as storm clouds
Gather round

They screech as dreams
Crash into the rocks
Shriek with glee
As sailors cry out in shock

The coast is littered
With crumpled ships
And the capsized are round up
With sharp whips

Once a beacon
The island groans
As its once clean beaches
Become choked with bones
