I am tired of people
Trying to fix me
Of prodding me
With endless enquiries
Of marvelling at my pain
Like it’s an animal in a zoo
And discussing among themselves
Which techniques they would use
Of trying to make me
Their pet project
Or seeing me as a challenge
For their incredible intellect
But they don’t want to listen
They don’t want to know me
They have no interest
In what I could be
If they had bothered
To look inside
Then they would have been
Very surprised
For forming in me
Under the weight of this pressure
Was a glorious diamond
Which I now treasure
I am not a Zoo Animal
