Hope is a Home

Hope is a home
Not a hotel
An impenetrable castle
A magnificent citadel

It is not a train
In which you hop in and out
It is an exploration ship
Crossing an ocean of doubt

It doesn’t always feel secure
It has peaks and troughs
But it is a place to shelter in
When the going gets rough

Fear will come knocking
Trying to scare you out
Howling endless threats
With a loud voice, it shouts

But hope will hold you
In the storms, it won’t bend
So make yourself comfortable
Stay until the very end
