Split Sky

The sky before me
Is split in two
One side flashes with lightning
The other’s a glorious blue

One side thunders
With looming black clouds
The other is teeming with birds
Making musical sounds

One side crackles
With bristling intensity
The other side glows
With a radiant glory

A beautiful contradiction
A perplexing paradox
And yet it is left up to me
To decide what to focus on
